I am not scholar on the Constitution, no politician, just a regular citizen of this country. I've worked in managing retails stores, and I know that a company's main priority is the their bottom line, the ole mighty dollar. If any one knows something about economics, you will agree and know where I am coming from. Companies partake in practices that are not good to the health (in the mental, emotional, physical sense) of the American people, and they do things that are not morally right, which of course is subjective. But let's not kid ourselves, you all know what I am talking about. If you have gone to a restaurant and did not like the service and demanded that something be taken off your bill or if you have bought something at a retail store and taken it back, for whatever reason, and gotten your money back, then at the same, you have, whether directly or indirectly, assumed that there is a moral code that corporations should follow. Why? Because we all know that companies, if they can, they will get over on you. This is why we need regulation. We can debate about what kind of regulation, but it is clear that companies have to have a framework to work in because otherwise they would advocate ways that would harm us or ways that would be considered immoral by most as long as it brings them profits. So why couldn't five justices see this relationship and not know that a judgment for corporations could only lead to something bad? Why should we allowed corporations to influenced our politics for the need to create policies for corporations. We have to be honest with ourselves; corporations are only going to put money into the political system to only influence it. We the people are on the ones that will be hurting. A corporation is a not human being nor a citizen. Citizens have different goals than corporations that do not revolve around profits and because the profits have a direct relationship to the citizens, in that relationship, the citizen should come first and should be protected. We should be able to have clean drinking water, clean air, coastlines that are not covered in oil, products that are safe to consume, medicine that in five years will not lead you to a class-action suit against a company that knew that their product was unsafe, etc. This is not about Republicans, Democrats, blacks, whites, Latinos, young, old, rich, or poor; this is about making sure that our citizens are protected under law. Because if government cannot protect us, what is the point of it? Americans, we need to wake up and take our our country back! Join me, make your voices heard!
